I feel that the education system, in the future, needs to be more integrated with other facets of society.
Rather than it being an institution apart from commerce, industry, politics, law, pure and applied sciences, information technology, etc,. it should be a part of these things.
This would include training young people towards responsibility in societal affairs. This would mean that children and adolescents would earn rights to have a say in issues which affect them, either directly or indirectly, based on their developmental level.
