I am completely unhappy with the modern age, and I want to live in the 1800's so bad. I cry myself to sleep.
I want to be born 1953, be 16 in 69 and go to woodstock, and then full on live through the 80`s and still experience the 2000`s and the new technologies, but I wouldn`t have to worry about what will happen later, cause I would die anyway.
What I wouldn't give to live in ancient Rome or Napoleon's time.
But then again education, travel, and technology is so advanced I think there's many a Roman legionnaire and philosopher who would have died to spend an hour in our libraries.
I want to go back to the 1970's again, see my nana and my Dad. Watch the great TV show we had then, and the music which has declined so much these day!
Leaving your front door wide open and unlocked while everyone was asleep... Was just the Greatest. My mom worked 3 jobs just to put food on the table for me and my 2 brothers. We shared 1 Christmas present and we Appreciated it and we were Happy! And I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat. I had a Great childhood.
I want to live in the past too. New York from 1890 to 1920 when all the skyscrapers were going up and movies were the new thing. I love the whole fin de siècle thing.
I feel the exact same way. Some days its all I think about and it fills me with profound sadness. Nothing happens nowadays that that matters. We've reached a point in humankind where we are just trying to make ourselves more comfortable. There are no more great men or events.
I hate the modern world but I do not cry about it but the 1800's isn't a good year, maybe the 1500's would be a good year to go back in.
