It's normal, but as Ella said, usually you'd have to have been born in the tribe. There are many different careers that are close to what you want. Anthropology, etc. Some people move away from civilisation to live Eco lives. Most modern facets of life are given up, like electricity and a toilet. Food has to be farmed by yourself. Just to give you a few ideas.
Good Luck!
Or become a forest ranger, or field biologist.
Or, you know, a forest-ranger-field-anthropologist.
For the win.
Or go camping a lot, by yourself, or find some other likeminded people (family? outdoorsy people?) who can be like your tribe...
I know I fully intend on spending at least half a year of my life living outside of any dwelling. As I child I used to be obsessed with wilderness survival, preparedness, and being Native American (for some reason...I didn't even know any Native Americans...)
So I'd say totally normal. (though if you include "not wantonly murdering or raping other people" as a "rule of civilization", that isn't normal...but that's not what I'm assuming you mean.)
