Is it normal that i want to have sex with my close friend?

Ok so I'm 24 and STILL a virgin. I have a male friend who I've been very close with for a few years but our friendship has been strictly platonic. He has had a girlfriend for a while now. We've had conversations about my virginity before and had a "moment"(earlier this year) once when we were both really drunk. This "moment" followed a conversation we were having about my anxiety(about losing my virginity). It was basically a "practice" session so that I would feel less awkward with someone else. Afterwards I felt awkward as hell but we were back to normal like the next week. I've NEVER been interested in dating him (he's not my type). but recently I've been thinking about having sex with him and I don't know why. These thoughts are confusing...

Is It Normal?

  • I'd Wait until they break up, you don't want him to resent you for ruining his relationship. If it looks like things between him and her are getting too serious though, tell him about what you you just stated to get an understanding of where your relationship may be headed, be aware that this may be a risk as far as your friendship goes but the pay off could be incredibly gratifying for you. Also, never mess around with married men, girlfriends are fine, but married men are a no go zone.

    • Yea I'm with you on the messing w/ married men thing. I could never. But idk about waiting for my friend to breakup simply because I don't want a relationship and he's already messed around while in this relationship. If it gets ruined it certainly wouldn't be my fault... Thanks for your response!

      • Thank you for providing a useful life example of how men and women, who are heterosexual, can't be friends in real life.

His girlfriend must not know about you, or is very stupidly naïve in buying the "just friends" story.
