I don't blame you. Why spend thousands of dollars on a party for everyone else. Use that money on a honeymoon. You can elope and still have a nice walk down the isle wedding. Explore your options I'm sure you can find something that works for both of you.

Totally agree with you on the waste of money thing - though I reckon putting money towards a home is a better option.
