I sort of know what one would mean about not wanting to be old, wrinkly, invilid, not able to take of yourself, wearing diapers again, sitting in a chair all wrinkly and not able to do anything, but saying you don't want to live past 35-40? All that stuff I just mentioned doesn't start until long after 40. Maybe someone saying that they don't want to live past 70 or 80, that would fit what you're saying better.
