To some extent, yes. Really, 40 is not that old compared to the average life expectancy, but I understand your sentiments. I sometimes think that when I get into my 60's, I will try to fall from a horse or pull some other dangerous stunt so I will die before I get old enough to be mentally and physically debilitated. But the truth is that "old" is relative term. When we get close to ages 40 and 60, we will probably find that we have reasons to continue living.
