Is it normal that i want to chew ice, like all the time?

Okay so I like to chew ice, and I have for a couple years. I think some people think it's weird, but is it? Like, I like certain kinds more than other. Am I weird?!

  • I used to eat it all the time, but now I've stopped. I guess I had pica as a kid...

  • I used to do this constantly when we had ice trays. I'd crave it and eat it all day. I had like 5 ice trays I would rotate so I'd have ice whenever I wanted. Then we moved, and our new freezer has the water button and ice button on the outside. It doesn't taste the same so now my addiction has ceased. I do miss it because it was comforting but now my teeth are very weak. I always need to get fillings every dentist visit.

  • When I'm drinking an iced drink, I always eat the ice afterwards. Very refreshing :)

  • My daughter loves ice too, she also 'chews' it I believe. When she finishes she wants another one, its like she's hooked on this stuff!

Anyway, the only concern is that ice is as hard as rocks, your teeth are not.
