Is it normal that i want to believe that he's had a change of heart?

I've known this guy for about a year now, and we've gotten to be really close. He's head over heels for this other girl, and I know it, and so does the rest of our class, but I still love him. My friends are convinced he might like me, but his friends are telling me that he's definitley in love with her. I listened to my friends though, and told him I love him. He told me that he doesn't feel the same about me, but we've stayed pretty good friends. Recently though, he's been extra supportive and implied that I was pretty, and that I'm a genius. Should I believe that he's had a change of heart?

  • This sounds almost exactly what happened to me once - I refused to believe the guy didn't like me because I didn't want to think that way, and ended up making a fool of myself.
    He doesn't like you.
    Move on. :<

  • Consider why you are telling a guy who is only a classmate that you are "in love." You aren't even dating.

No disrespect, but IMO you only fancy him, have a crush - and I think the rest is overblown school-yard drama, which he is playing as big a part in as your friends. That is about status & attention.

I'd say move on, but you don't need to because you are not really anywhere to start with. So instead, start dating. This guy, if he can get beyond himself, or other guys. Dates are fun. And real.

  • I would say, moving on is better for you even though it may hurt for a while. If he doesn't have your whole heart.... Then hun, he ain't worth it. Trust me.
