When i'm loney I usually have feelings longing to be held, and as a straight male it has always been a woman holding me, but now as often as not I picture a man holding me, which has disturbed me and has made me start asking a lot of questions..... is this normal?

    You just want compassion from another human. You are lonely and you want someone to care. People do crave affection. Well most people do anyways. I don't think what you desire is sexual at all. I would give you a hug but this is through the internet.

    There are more than two genders, but that aside, I really don't think it has to mean anything other than you being lonely and needing warmth. There is a possibility of you being emotionally (not necessarily physically) attracted to men, but that is for you to figure out and this isn't necessarily a sign of that at all.

    Maybe you have just broadened your range because you are lonely? Like maybe originally you would only imagine being with a beautiful woman, then it slowly changed as your expectations get lower and you're ready to take just about anyone. It's a normal reaction I think, people don't want to be alone.
