  • Well to be honnest, it would be very creepy and very awkward to walk into a bank, or a car-dealarship and the salesman is in a dress. I would walk out stright away!
Wear whatever you want, but at the workplace you should (and must) follow rules.
I want to go in my shorts and Las Vegas T-shirt at work too, but I can't. And I wouldn't. That would be bad for my clients. I can't talk about international spedition and stay with beach shorts. I have to wear trousers and a shirt, or other businesslike clothes. Not a suit, but sensible clothes.
I like the fact that you have to have a dress code at work. You can't do whatever you want there. It's work. It's serious and you want to make a good impression on your clients.
