You haven't said anything at all about how your wife feels about this idea. If she wants it too, why not? Maybe a (say) 6 month trial before committing to children would be a good idea: this would give you all a chance to deal with the jealousy issues which will almost inevitably arise.
I suggest you all do some research and reading about polyamory first too.
