Is it normal that i want a really protective boyfriend?

I don't know. I have always wanted a boyfriend who was protective/possessive and cares about where i am or where i am going. Or who always wants to be with me and take care of me. Is it normal???

Is It Normal?

  • its normal...because girls love "attention"...maybe its the "attention that you really like...but sometimes havin an overprotective and a possesive bf is irritating...

  • right on, mtnw! More problematic even, is the desire for a person who will act this way towards you. It may simply be that you want to feel desired, needed and valued, but "possessive" as used in your post brings objectification to mind (i.e. you stop being a person with needs, hopes, dreams, will etc, and become an object to be possessed). I recommend that you reflect upon the reason why you desire this, and you proceed into intimate relationships with caution!

    best of luck to you!

  • always be careful of what you wish for. too much protective/possessiveness indicates problems.

  • I know how you feel. My bf is technically "abusive" but I like it because of the attention he gives me. I like feeling like he'd protect me, even if he does hit me I'm still HIS and it feels good sometimes. Most people don't like it though- you just need someone who fits you I guess.
