Is it normal that i visualize everything that i hear???

When I am speaking, thinking, or listening to someone else talk...I ALWAYS visualize each and every single word. For example...just randomly... the words "makes sense" forces me to visualize someone *making* something in the kitchen and a random scene from the movie "the sixth *sense*". Does this happen to everyone?
These visualizations are not always images...they can also be short clips like videos. Furthermore, they are not necessarily visualizations of things that I have seen in my life...My mind tends to create things on the spot..

So once again...

Is it normal???
Does this happen to everyone?
Could I possibly be a genius like Einstein? or at least above average?

    Reminds me of scrubs

    It might be that synthesia (spelling?) condition?

      Haha..Scrubs...I see why you'd say that...

      And I looked it up on Google. It's synesthesia, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synesthesia

      I tried matching my symptoms to what they've described but I still don't see a definite answer :(

      I'm going ask my doc. about it...maybe they can do some tests to determine whether this is actually the case with me...?

    I did my final paper on Synesthesia, and it could possibly be that. Synesthesia is basically when two or more of your senses sort of blend together.I do this too, but I don't think our criteria match tha of a synesthetic. It could be that its your way of processing new information so that your brain can store it. Do you have a memory?

    I do this same thing. Sometimes it is a curse. But it certainly keeps things interesting. Ive become so good at drawing a mental picture that I literally can see everything I touch now. Even when I'm looking at what I'm touching. Very profitable skill. Just focus on developing your ability to see as clearly as possible an image in your mind. I took a notepad for the longest time and glanced at an object once. Then wrote details about it.

    that's called synesthesia,i would like to be synesthetic too,average people can only achieve this condition if they take drugs like lsd

    Yeah, you're just as crazy as einstein but seems to me as though you have the intelligence of a rock. Congrats, really! We are so proud of raising a fine boy/girl such as yourself!

    not normal but i dont see how it makes you a genius. if you can put it to some practical use then maybe. doesnt happen to everyone though.
