Is it normal that i've had the constant thought that nothing is real?

This has been happening for 2 years. I know that everything is real and that I'm here and present, but I don't feel that I am. I'm not exactly a word smith anyway and describing what may seem as a rather abstract concept is a bit of a challenge! Apparently some people feel as if they are viewing their life from the outside but I still feel in my body and in myself. Thanks!!

Is It Normal?

  • Jump off the roof of your house, when you meet the ground you will find out how fake everything is.

  • Yeah, we are actually in the matrix.

  • I experience that from time to time. Its common with anxiety disorders.

  • Are you experiencing dissociation as well? Have you sought help? I feel like maybe you are under a lot of stress, and have perhaps experienced some, or possibly a lot of trauma in your life.

  • I think of all, contrariwise, the antidisestablishmentarians, with their joining in Church establishments, rejecting anti-establishments, they can be confident from their thoughts how real they are, but on topic, you with the seeing that any of anything isn't real, I think it's both a normal thing and subjectivity, I think reality's in my mind, it's all based on belief systems.

  • Depersonalization/derealization. It's an intense anxiety thing.

"Depersonalization-derealization disorder occurs when you persistently or repeatedly have the feeling that you're observing yourself from outside your body or you have a sense that things around you aren't real, or both."
