Is it normal that I utterly despise modern society?

  • This post truly reaches levels of narcissism and assholery that even I can’t comprehend. Most people grow out of the “everyone else is a dumb sheep and I’m the enlightened one” stage at about 12 or 13.

    • I didn’t say I was the only one who is enlightened (by the way, bad association with the Age of Enlightenment). I just wanted to say that I agree with traditionalist philosophers and historical conservatives (of which we had tons).
As I’ve said, I don’t have good enough English writing skills to write a text that’ll persuade anyone, but I can share what I think, so this was just to see people react

      • I hate modern society too but you sound like a pseudo-intellectual pretentious dick. But hey you like art and smart things so that makes you smarter than everybody else.

Not religious but modern science meets all criteria of a religion. Also I don't get your whole idea about having small numbers of "genetically superior" people hold control over all the resources creating a traditional society. That whole scenario minus technology is literally just some mad max shit where everyones living in a totalitarian dystopia. Your idea is dumb.

        • I don’t see any difference between my description and a normal patriarchal society (for example Roman Empire). And even if it does differ then I probably didn’t mean it. Also I came up with it when I was pretty young

          • So what is it about the roman empire that was so much better than the current system? Id say most of the problems with modern society were there in Rome too. Is it the technology you dont like or what?

            • During the height of the Roman empire, between 10 and 15 percent of those living in it were slaves. Maybe that's part of its appeal to the OP, since in the mid 19th century, around 40% of the population of Russia were serfs (slaves in all but name).

            • It’s more of a cultural thing. Egalitarian society is bound to have a lot of stupid people having rights to manifest their opinions and that leads to lots of different phenomena and I think that technology (industrial revolution) just gave a chance for the ideas of Modern Time to spread. I am not really a unabomber kind of primitivist

              • Egalitarian society has everyone serving a purpose according to their abilities. There's always going to be some kind of general sense of right and wrong.

Rome was literally the exact system we have now where fake political parties under the control of the ruling class were used to decieve the people, just without technology. Im not a big fan of technology, especially considering the amount of "scientific achievements" that were complete hoaxes.

You're using a lot of words to say you want to live under a strict dictatorship.
