Is it normal that i think us humans are stupid?

I just thought about it:
We are sending out craploads of radio waves about us, our position, etc.
Did we get any answers? No.
Now what if the universe is like the jungle where if you don't shut up you end up being the dish of some predators?
We are just giving out tons of info about us to some potential destructive alien race...
I think we're pretty stupid if you think about the universe in this way...

    Or we're sending info to an alien race who will save us. What if they're good aliens and have the cure for cancer. Or maybe the answer to world peace. Or they have medicine that will let us live forever or introduce technology that blows your mind.

      I agree with rosarra, why must we always assume that if there are aliens out there, they want to destroy us?
      I bet that they are more so just like us...And if thats the case, they will destroy themselves before they reach earth.

    As Albert Einstein once said, "Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds". I belive the individual is great, smart, and rather calm, the mass on the other hand, is stupid, scared, and rather arrogant. We as a whole are just plain dumb.

    We are taking a gamble by doing that. Obviously, its not always smart to gamble, but sometimes, you should. it can pay off, you know.

    Most of the universe is so far away that it'd be thousands of years before people even heard our first transmission, never mind set a course for earth.

      Yeah, like In Futurama, where the omicronians get earth TV from the year 2000. the universe is very large, so it will take awhile for our transmission to reach a civilization, much less their response. Hopefully, they already sent out a message before we did.

    Obviously were not getting answers. The universe is so inconceivably gigantic the soonest we would get a response if we get a response wouldn't be in your lifetime or your kids lifetime.
