Is it normal that i think this sucks?

Finished studying a year ago and been 6months working now. I work from 9am to 7pm where i come home and at 8pm i go to the gym till 10pm. Then head home eat and sleep.

THAT'S MY LIFE. I got no time to do anything at all. I start losing touch with my friends and i can't imagine where a gf would ever fit in this... I tried to stop going to the gym, but i get so depressed after a week(not that i think 1hour will save me...)

Is this how life is? You work, eat, shit, sleep, work and then you die? I want do to so many things but i can't see how can i ever do them with my non-existent free time.

Is It Normal?

  • Since you've just finished college and started working then suck it up for a few years till you start your own business or find another job where you can work less hours. Mon, Wed, and Fri in the gym are more than enough.

After a bachelor and a master degrees and years of hard work, I realized that devoting my entire life to work really sucks, so my dream - which I'm working so hard on- is having a farm in the countryside, maybe (that's a big maybe) starting a family and living life as simple as possible. Hopefully, I'll get there in a few years, although I'm only 31.

  • Life sucks, then you die. :(
But seriously, if you don't take care of your mental health, all hell will break loose. I've been there. You need to make time to relax and be with friends, even if it does negatively affect your professional life. Sorry, but making your entire life your job is a fast way to become clinically depressed.

  • yeah thats life and it sux sometimes. but you need to start from the bottom to get to the top. work long hours, do a good job then you will promoted and work less for more money. there is always a light at the end of the tunnel.
if they are true friends then they will understand that you cant see them all of the time because of your work commitments but cant you hang out with them on the weekends?
you have only been working for 6 months, you got another 50 years of working to go so you better get used to it.

  • Going to the gym is healthy and probably the best thing going for you. In almost done college and in terrified of this becoming my life, even though it seems inevitable with a lane business degree. Life sucks

  • You're addicted to the gym. Lot's of people are, and it's a real addiction!! It's serious, you may work on not going to it. But still work out, go running or something! THEN go to partys, amke friends, or at least try to.

  • Don't workout so much. Honestly, no one cares whether your ripped or not. However, they will notice if you're gloomy and depressed about your life. Skip the workouts!

  • I don't think it's normal but you can sort it out if you are so unhappy. You should balance your life. Do you not have any days off a week? Make sure you make plans for those days with things you really want to do. Also try organising your life, for example don't go to sleep when you come in, why don't you go straight to the gym, then you would have more time when you got back.

  • That's life sometimes. Course you can fit a gf in there but she would need to have the same job schedule in order for things to work correctly.

You need to not look down at things all the time because things can always get better if you let them. But if you don't and make dumb decisions then you won't be any happier.

  • Unfortunately that's how life is. I don't really know what to tell you. If you're not happy with your job, try to find a new one. Even if you need to get another degree, save up and go for it. Do what makes you happy. Life isn't about work, its about having fun. Yes, 90% of the world works, but that's neccessary.
