Is it normal that i think there is people in my mirror?

Well, this has probably been going on for about a year.
It's not as bad as it was but it still hangs on me.
I'm pretty convinced that there is a person or people in my mirror, talking about what i'm doing in that room. It's usually people i know, like, from school, friends or anyone, that intimidate me in some way, or attracted to or have something to do with them. I'm scared for my health and well-being. A website said i could have Paranoia. I seriously think it could be.

Is It Normal?
Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

  • Youre looking into a parallel universe. I discovered that when I stumbled and fell into my mirror and got sucked into that universe.

  • A study was done the other day about this very phenomena. After further investigation into the incidences, they found that each mirror in question once belonged to very vain people. They do not know how, why, or who is doing this though.

    • Really? Could it be that the previous owners thoughts and feelings have somehow projected themselves on the mirror?

  • The person in the mirror is you. Just calm down, unless you've got some stalker in there with you, you're not gonna die.

    • It's not that i'm scared of the person in the mirror
i just hate not being able to change my clothes or get naked without covering myself or turning the lights off.

  • That isn't normal.

It sounds like you are having paranoid delusions. This is a big symptom of psychosis, specifically paranoid schizophrenia. I would speak to someone about it, because these kind of things can escalate.

    Read this: http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Schizophrenia/Pages/Symptoms.aspx

Does any of that ring a bell?

Paranoid delusions aren't exclusively a symptom of paranoid schizophrenia, however. There are other disorders, illnesses and medication that can cause these kind of delusions. For example, when my father was dying of lung cancer, he began to experience some severe paranoid delusions. Apparently this was linked to having developed an infection in addition to the cancer.

A delusion as persistent as this (over a year) is strange, and I recommend you speak to a professional about it :)

    • Ok
      but it's not all mirrors
just the ones of houses i visit frequently or my own house
by the way i'm only 15 so this is a little frightening
i don't really want to talk to anyone about it because it's quite embarrassing and i don't think they'll understand.

      • It makes no difference that it's not all mirrors. It's still a delusion.

Of course it's frightening. You being 15 makes no difference to how frightening it is.

If you don't want to talk to anyone except random people like us online about it then so be it. But if this is genuine, persistent paranoia, it's probably a sign that something isn't quite right in your head.

    • no not spirits, just normal people
It's like when you're with your friends, and you are standing in front of them or something and you're doing something and they're all watching you
