You're right. I don't mean sports at all here (because sports could be awesome sometimes), but in other aspects of life "team-players" are usually almost the same as the herd mentality.
Think for yourself, keep quiet and be stronger than everybody else. And the zombie apocalypse comes - live happily ever after!
