Is it normal that I think slenderman is real?

  • Yes. I believe in him too. All these people may be laughing but they probably wouldn't be if they looked into the origins of "slenderman". Contrary to popular belief, he did not start as an Internet meme. The person who made the meme most likely copied him based off something they had seen or heard. In old Germany there used to be stories about tall, pale, faceless monsters that would attack villages at night and take young children. They called them Der Grossman. Other areas in Europe have been found to have similar stories, with the monster looking pretty much the same in all of them. He wasn't the child's tale he is today. The real "slenderman" was a borderline demonic entity with no compassion for his victims. Some sources claim he was even rumored to eat them and leave some half alive still hanging from the trees.

If you look hard enough and really study the background of different things you can be surprised how many myths are actually rooted in a measure of truth. Today people have crowed the internet with the so much fake stuff and stories about "slenderman" that it's hard to find the truth unless you really dig. But it is doable. You can believe whatever you want. But if you want to know if he is true or not you'll have to do the research for yourself.
