Ahem, physicist? Historian? Chemist? It might not seem important for everyone else, but it is. Imagine learning to drive without a basic understanding of momentum. Imagine how many mistakes we'd make over and over again if we weren't taught about Hitler. And think about how much rotten food we'd try eating if we didn't have an understanding of what was wrong with it! The only problem I have with the public education system is that they don't teach enough. I lose even more faith in humanity whenever I meet someone who genuinely doesn't care about learning.
