    I think the legal system ought to be about rehabilitation not punishment, which is why I disagree. Although rehabilitation and punishment can be one and the same I don't think that extends to castration. Rapists probably suffer from a deeper psychological issue, and we should treat that.

    I'm sure this is an unpopular opinion, and I can try and express it in a more full and detailed way if anyone wants me to :)

      EVERYONE suffers from something...this over sexualized world we live in is disgusting...the consequence ....EVERYONE just stop for a minute the next time u watch TV and notice how many people are killed and no one even bats an eye anymore....oh well another person what killed or rapped or whatever. We are a desensitized world that has forgot compassion empathy and help your neighbor. It's gross ...So people you are getting what you asked for with all this freedom of this and freedom of expression etc ...IT"S a joke really in a world that is basically asleep and allowing it to happen......of coarse rapists should be castrated...for many reasons....especially if they are mentally deranged.....start thinking more of the hell the victim must endure the rest of their life and stop caring about a lunatic rapist...esp gang rape...AND YES RAPE IS ABOUT SEX WITH YOUNG OUT OF CONTROL HORNY MEN......STOP WITH THIS NONSENSE ABOUT RAPE IS NOT ABOUT SEX BUT IS ABOUT POWER AND CONTROL. THAT IS THE BIGGIST LIE EVER TOLD...THINK ABOUT IT THESE YOUNG GUYS JUST WANT TO GET THEIR ROCKS OFF AND SEX IS HOW YOU DOT THAT PEOPLE. SHEESH WAKE UP

      Ok then for starter rehab ...no more pornography available to young boys so that they are desensitized and think that this is how sex is done...just take what you want. How about holding fathers accountable for son's behavior and actions...hit them big time in the pocket book or better yer castrate the fathers for raising horrible disgusting children with nor morals or values... I HATE when peopoe think that rehab really works...maybe in a small % but over all it doesn't...esp for gang rapists and pedophiles...SO I say castrate them immediately

      I agree with this; "an eye for an eye" is an old, outdated, oversimplified, naieve and frankly barbaric system of justice.

        ok then lets just give these rapists a couple of years in jail and turn em loose to repeat it againg and again...When I hear stupid response like this one I almost hope you know how it feels to be raped them maybe you will wake up...sorry for being so crass but you have offered no solutions other that don't hurt the barbarians.....you say it is a barbaricsystem this eye for and eye...I'll tell you that shoving an iron rod into a female and perceing her intestines and then reaching inside and pulling the intestines out deserves at the minimum castrataion...I don't want these subhumans to die I want them to think for the rest of their lives what animals they are . So pleas think before you make such idiotic statements or at least suggest some solutions . I am truly disgusted
