Is it normal that I think rapists should be castrated? And that the punishment for this crime should be more severe?
It depends really. Plenty of rapists in general population when i served time, the child molesters tend to be targets and need protective custody. Crimes against children are the main issue with inmates.

Joel "the ripper" Rifkin should ring a bell, the guy was a rapist, but he killed seventeen women and that made inmates so uncomfortable that he had to be seperated. People were afraid to be in the same room as this dorky glasses wearing nerd.
Yeah, it's normal, but castrating them won't do shit. For most rapists, it's not about sexual pleasure or even their sex drive in general. It's more so about power, control, dominance, and in many cases, revenge (the person that they are raping resembles a person or group of people with whom they have fallen out with).
I think that there should be better measures as far as rehabilitation goes, and as soon as I think of a solution, I'll let you know. THINKING CAP!
I agree. The punishment for the crime should be more than what it is. Rape causes a lot of trauma and issues that usually the victim is scarred with for life.
It's been brought up before, but the purpose of punishment is to show the simple minded what happens when you transgress the law; not to satisfy your own sense of vengeance.
It would be much more productive just to hang them on metal wire. It's simple, (very) painful, and takes a while. It sends a message.
And by extension, the man who punishes severely punishes least.
I think the legal system ought to be about rehabilitation not punishment, which is why I disagree. Although rehabilitation and punishment can be one and the same I don't think that extends to castration. Rapists probably suffer from a deeper psychological issue, and we should treat that.

EVERYONE suffers from something...this over sexualized world we live in is disgusting...the consequence ....EVERYONE just stop for a minute the next time u watch TV and notice how many people are killed and no one even bats an eye anymore....oh well another person what killed or rapped or whatever. We are a desensitized world that has forgot compassion empathy and help your neighbor. Ok then for starter rehab ...no more pornography available to young boys so that they are desensitized and think that this is how sex is done...just take what you want. How about holding fathers accountable for son's behavior and actions...hit them big time in the pocket book or better yer castrate the fathers for raising horrible disgusting children with nor morals or values... I HATE when peopoe think that rehab really works...maybe in a small % but over all it doesn't...esp for gang rapists and pedophiles...SO I say castrate them immediately

I think people that want other people to be castrated should be castrated...whatever you wish for others should be done to you....I mean if we are wishing, lets wish that no one ever gets harmed...or all the pain and suffering in the world goes away...why wish more pain on the world
The think is the world population is getting larger by the minute because people breed like rats...the more people the more crime so it has come time to put forces in the system that would STOP people from harming others. IF the consequence if severe then it will deter the fast majority...some it will not and these must be put down like a rabid dog
Coming from a victim herself I'd have to say the punishment given is not enough. If you can't use your stick right then don't use it at all.
I think if someone's crime involved hurting another being in any way, they should be punished by their actions being reciprocated onto them. Like someone said, rapists should be raped, killers should be killed in the same way they killed their victim. This will ensure a better society. Nowadays people aren't even afraid to go to prison. Free shelter, food, a bed, showers, gyms, and even TVs and free school. C'mon...
once their predatory actions start to turn inward and they start doing these things to themselves, then MAYBE....*MAYBE* we can consider the self-abuse or self-mutilation a POSSIBLE psycological issue.
absolutely rapists should be castrated. they should be beheaded after they are castrated. its normal that you think like that. what is not normal is that society is numb to this problem. whereas murder is the killing of the body, rape is the annihilation of the Spirit, which is worse. i would like to see women create a task force that can punish rapists who do it serially and in cold blood. there is nothing psychological about this. this is a problem with someone who can make a conscious choice when or when not to eat but will not make a conscious choice not to put their hands on another human being. the way you can tell that this is NOT an excusable crime is if they can chose to do or not to do other things (like eat or shop for clothes) at Will that do NOT harm people, but they choose not to excercise that same degree of Will when it comes to the life of another person. thats just a rotten character that needs to be severely punished. they are selfish. i guarantee you that if you stretched out the serial killer/rapist on a table with a GUILLOTINE dangling over they damn head and said - "the split-second you even try to touch this individual, the blade will come down and sever your head from your body and slice you clean" - that serial killer would NOT touch the individual. just becuase there is the CLEAR AND PRESENT threat on their life. this is why serial killers/rapists hide. they know what they are doing is wrong. its not an addiction, its just that the price for doing it is not strong enough to make them want to stop.

It appears you don't think the brain is involved in making choices, due to two things (belief in "the spirit", and believing psychological issues are independent of choice). You are demonstrably* wrong.

I agree mostly...the only problem with killing the the offenders if they rape is that they will always kill the victim after the assult if they think she will go to the police. ONLY in cases were the rape victim dies should the rapist be hung. I do like the idea of illimiating all rapists and pedophiles thou
