yes but humans are more advanced than other mammals and with our technology we should have figured out a way to prevent period discomfort a long time ago.
Actually, I've read studies that point pretty conclusively to all the PMS and other menstrual issues that western women experience as a learned response.
Most women in the poor third world cultures do not experience PMS or other menstrual issues.
Girls, according to this, your mothers taught you and their mothers taught them this behavior. You should all thank them for your discomfort.
