Is it normal that i think people are boring and soft?

I’m a 22 year old guy and when I talk to most people they just bore the hell out of me. People at my school just seem so soft. If I walk up to a guy and ask “Hey man what’s up?” I’ll get a soft response like “uh hi hello...” It’s almost like these guys are girls now. They also have the softest voices. I try to converse with a lot of people on campus but it seems like they can’t have a conversation outside of Xbox or some movie that just came out. They also all dress the same. Not to say that what you wear is too important or that you should splurge hard earned money on expensive clothing , but I just see the same pair of carpenter jeans and a blank shirt with generic shoes. It’s almost like they have no conscience and that they can think for themselves. They walk around mindless almost like robots. What’s up with some of these guys?

    In all bluntness and generalization,

Gen Z grew up behind computer/phone screens and social media and now they don’t know how to socialize... buncha aspys

Unfortunately, there is truth to that statement.

I'm 22, male as well. I can't really say I agree with you though, but hey - we all have different experiences.
    What country are you from?

I'm a high school teacher in Australia and the kids seem pretty switched-on, socially. They're a bunch of sarcastic, chatty, memelords. They're not much younger than me, maybe that's why I get on well with them.

Maybe you just haven't found the right group of people to socialise with

Lots of younger people just have internet friends instead of real friends and a lot of them buy clothing online and order food online. The result is people who rarely go out and have no idea how to socialize.

People are losing thier edge. Less person on person contact. More sensitivity culture. Its slowly eroding people's free expression. This is the primary reason on why I'm an asshole. I dont censor myself when I have an opinion in public. If I'm working however I rather keep it to myself.

I get what your saying there mate, but your perspective is too generalized. Also not everyone tries to be interesting to talk to. Most people think I'm boring as hell to talk to also, but I could care less. Its not really a problem, more of an observation. get my drift mate?

Well maybe they, as in this group of individuals you encountered, are boring and soft. But the post leads us to surmise that you are refering to people in general. Got it mate?
