    Well many stereotypes are based on truth. Stats say that most single mothers are black, but they also say that most serial killers are white men. So you could get her back and ask her what it's like being married to a murderer.

      i think they meant, like stereotypically black people live in a ghetto and the father is usually a druggie or in prison and whatnot so the other persin may have automatically assumed that this was the case

    Did she know previously that you didn't have a father? If not, that is pretty damn horrible and I wouldn't stand for it. It is mind blowing how people think it's "okay" to discriminate based on color. It's normal but it's not right.
