This applies to all emotions often feigned does it not?
'Love' is often said but less often felt. Many people say it without meaning it simply because it's the 'thing to say'. The same applies to 'I miss', 'I hate', 'I need' etc.
Sometimes we say these things because we don't know the right words to express ourselves, sometimes we say them because to not say them would have a greater impact, sometimes we say them because it's the first thing that comes to mind and we don't have the patience to reconsider.
IIN that I think missing someone is not just a word but a feeling too?
