Well, I would stop hating on artists, maybe you don't see art like that and that's fine but art has a different definition for everyone.
I think illustrations are nice but I like a piece with emotion and power in it. So see, that's an example of how everyone has a different definition. As for your major, choose the one you want to do. It's always good to know what you want but it never hurts to look at things from a different perspective either.

Not all artists are like that. Only the ones in the art community. Simply being an artist does not make you part of the "Art community".
