Is it normal that i think iq tests are bullshit?

I can't even take them seriously...most of the time when I had to do they just bored me so much I didn't even read the questions but just ticked random boxes. The knowledge most of these tests ask for isn't only irrelevant but also hugely useless. I love logic, but when it's only used to ask if gagas are also gugus then who the f.... cares?
I did one quite seriously once though and it was 120, which is sort of average I guess.
Still I think IQ tests are just a huge load of bullshit because all they test is a biased Western view of intelligence...is it normal that I hate them that much?

    I thought they were important until one day I took two different IQ tests. One said I had a genius IQ and the other said I was below average.

    What kind of shit is that?

    Yes for me at least. I have little patience when it comes to IQ tests so most of the time I don't finish them or like you, I tick random choices.

    They use IQ tests for entrance exams which I think is just formality. Basically, schools are just making sure you have the thinking capacity of a normal student.

    You can take tests, but certainly people must not base people's intelligence solely from them.

    They are not great, yeah. There are pretty major cultural and class biases, and the different tests vary pretty widely. Some tests have a low ceiling, meaning they're pretty good at measuring lower and midrange intelligence, but that extremely intelligent people score lower than they should.

    Actually it's been proven that high IQ is correlated with being a good employee, basically due to being able to hear instructions and following them.

    Yes because IQ tests, I don't believe are accurate. There are way more types of intelligence than an IQ test could ever acknowledge.

      How could you fail an IQ test? They're not exams you'll fail if you don't do well enough...not doing well simply means you'll have a low score.
      And no, I didn't completely 'fail' it. Which is another reason why I find them ridiculous, as I didn't really think about the questions at all and focused on other things than the test...

    I don't think you can really base a persons intelligence on those tests. Last time I took one it was a pretty good score but that doesn't mean much to me. I sucked ass on some parts of it and rocked the house on others. I can not remember a series of numbers that were just given to me 3seconds ago but Im awesome at the visual puzzle type things. I can't give proper definitions of big girl words even though I can use them correctly in a sentance. Its just for. "Fun". Woooooo!

    I am a bit iffy about it. I think you may not realize that they use word play to see if you are able to keep attention to what something is while obstacles get in your way that might think what you think it is is wrong, etc.

    Also, online IQ tests are really stupid, I don't recommend them.

    I don't really like them that much either, although when I took one, I found it very fun. I'm so pathetic, I actually enjoy tests:P! I do question the reliability though, because my result was extremely high. And that's not me being modest, the score puts me in a group defined as very abnormal. I would like to be a part of that group, but all the scores I've ever received seemed too high for me.
