This has happened to me so badly I drove my car into a wall with no seatbelt on and a noose around my neck. Bad things happening, the fear of a hateful God instilled in us from childhood, and depression can all play a role. Loving parents, the right medication, or the right clergy can help you feel better, and sometimes you may have more than one that helps. I can promise you it is not true; God doesn't hate you. I'm bisexual, but never had many issues with it; I mainly felt guilty for leaving my childhood faith and "being a bad influence" on others for having done so.
thankfully the world is changing. These kinds of issues will be things of the past one day, just like the struggles of women and minorities and even potheads jailed for years whose lives get ruined for nothing wrong.
