First of all, if you do something sinful and you feel bad, that means you are still a good person. Because you have still faith in your heart. And because bad people do not feel bad after they do any sin. Basically theirs is a dead heart.
Secondly, every sin that you make, has a potential to reduce your blessings in this world. And God does that to test you.
On the other hand, if you do good and get closer to God, then your blessings (or you described it as luck in this post) increases.
