Is it normal that i think death sounds peaceful?

Death seems like a deep sleep from which we never awake. I don't believe in an afterlife, I believe we only get this one. is it normal that I view death as something peaceful? And when life turns upside-down and we hate what/who we've become, why not just kill ourselves and go rest eternally? In the end, nothing matters or has a purpose.

Is It Normal?

  • I wish I didn't fear death. It terrifies me. Not sure if this is normal or not, but it's a better way to think.

  • Death does sound a bit peaceful. It sounds like your the only person in the world but you're okay with it. At least that's what I think it would feel like...

  • Not being afraid of death is something good. I'm not afraid of it either and think about it the same way you do. I'm not depressed or something but I think it's important to understand that death is nothing to fear.

  • Thanks guys for your comments. If Stephen Hawking says afterlives are fairy-tales, then they are. Stephen Hawking is too damn smart to be wrong, haha. And it is not that I am depressed, I just don't see any reason to fear death.

  • Yes thats true. Afterlives were made to scare us into emptying our wallets into the pockets of old men in white dresses and big pointy hats.
