Wow, how original! I'm an Aspie, and it's so stupid, it doesn't even offend me.

That is the thing. Whenever I thought of "Aspergers", I never even made the connection to ass-burgers.
It is a cute little play on enunciation, I will give you that, but as far as any originality goes, I have seen it being used more than a $10 French hooker at a Biker Bar in New Mexico and considering it's constant usage, I have trouble taking it seriously as an insult anymore.
It sounds stupid to me too. It's barely relevant to autism spectrum disorders apart from sounding like one of them. But why burgers? It's not relevant. If Aspies were all preternaturally attracted to burgers, then okay, it would have some mileage as a mildly interesting observation.
Having said that, I do like the British exclamation "Arsebiscuits" and use it myself. Although that's at least an attempt at a surreal image.
When I was younger I was considered border-line Aspergers, and until this post I actually didn't know the spelling. For the longest time I thought it was spelled "Asbergers" or "Asburgers", so I actually thought the way to say it was like "ass-burgers".
But if people are saying it like that on purpose, to make fun of someone, it is pretty stupid. You could probably come back at them with a better insult, that is actually insulting.
I was diagnosed with Asperger's, myself, and when people say "ass-burgers" it doesn't offend me either. I've always been able to take a joke, but not everyone is the same. For some people it may be offensive and insulting. Some people are more sensitive than others.
