We are of the same nature as animals....we are animals. There's absolutely no logical reason to believe otherwise. Humans are very egotistical. Many want to believe we are special or chosen, that we are entirely separate from the animal kingdom due to being "created" as opposed to evolved. The tendency of people to allow their emotions and desires, rather than their intellect govern their reality is astounding. There's plenty of evidence that, as you suggested, our consciousness does not survive death. . We've made incredible advances in neurology would indicate we are nothing more than the substance in our heads. The people who say we are divinely gifted with a "soul" that transcends our death are simply substituting evidence and reality for their wishes and wants, for their need to believe.
This is a little off topic but when you mentioned an evil god this came to mind. Short, excellent video. Well worth the time to watch it.
I'm having a hard time picturing a scenario in which I'd introduce myself as a human. Haha. Like nice to meet you joe, I'm a human. I think I know what you're getting at and I don't really make that separation. that's a dog, that's a cat, that's a bird, that's a human. We're all species under the umbrella of the animal kingdom. I may be a little strange in that sense though. It's been repeatedly emphasized to me in curriculum that we are animals.
Is it normal that I think animals and humans are the same nature ?
