I'm also an atheist, and I agree with you, bananaface. There are a lot of awful things caused by religion, but trying to force people to stop practising won't fix any of them.

I like you, but I hate it when people say things like "Science did this, religion did that", give credit where credit is due rather than shifting personal responsibility onto groups and facets, to the people, not to the creation and the institution itself.
No, you're right, it's an oversimplification. What I should have said is "There are aspects of religions that I think are harmful". For instance, I think that the belief that faith is virtuous is harmful.
Is it normal that I think all religous buldings should be torn down?
