Is it normal that i talk to myself when i'm by myself?

Like, okay. Long story short; when I'm by myself, I hate it because I always talk and I always have someone to talk to..and when there is no one to talk to, I freak out and basically go crazy cause I have no one to communicate with (when there's no one to text or call or IM). Is that normal?

  • I thik that's totally normal, i used to talk to myself all the time!! i didn't like the quiet and didn't like not having anyone to talk to, so i talked to myself. i quit when i realized that music fills the quiet even better, if you think it's weird to talk to yourself, then just pump up the volume on a favorite cd and sing along (:

  • Hell Yes:

Totally normal. When I am alone I communicate with myself and if you might say this is the way to get your best answers.

  • Shoot, I talk to myself AND answer too! I go as far as rehearsing what Im going to tell someone later. If it is what it is, I am what I am ; D

  • ohh yessss... i hate being home alone and i get absolutely enraged when my friends aren't texting me every 2 minutes.

i used to talk to myself but my mood's been, meh, and i don't do it as much. my parents think it's great i don't do it anymore, but i miss it. talking to yourself is perfectly healthy; i think when you stop and start to trip yourself out and think too much instead of talking is where trouble begins.

  • I don't know if its normal or not, but so long as you do it by yourself, no one will really know. It seems pretty harmless to me.

  • you could just have trouble being by yourself. I know that has turned into a problem for me and I used to talk aloud when I was alone becuase it made it feel less lonely or awkward. I'm not sure how to fix something like that, but I think it's normal anyways. Just don't answer yourself :) j/k
