It's not normal in the sense that other people talk to pencil sharpeners, but I think that it does not mean you're some weirdo or a freak. (Although personally I feel there is nothing wrong with being a "weirdo"!)
You probably just need something to talk to and decided on your pencil sharpener, of all things. Some people talk to dolls/stuffies, you just happened to pick something different. Don't worry about it.
