  • I recognize the plight of those few who were born in the wrong bodies but is the body wrong or is the mind wrong? That's the big question here. Suppose I have a unique perspective on this since I'm chromosomally intersex. I feel male yet some of my body parts reject the notion (specifically my breasts but a few bench presses now and again got that solved) I am born as XXY but that Y still makes me a man no matter how many Xs are inside it.

The mind is such a fickle thing, humans are very, very complex creatures when it comes to inteligence. Gender dysphoria dosesnt effect animals since their brains do not have the required capacity for it. It's a uniquely human problem. I am on the side of it being a brain problem rather than the bodies problem. The brain makes mistakes both chemically and through fault of genetics. For that very reason jumping for a quick fix solution such as transitioning rather than trying to sort out all other possible places for distress cannot be understated.

I belive if someone truely believes they are trans they should have the ability to transition but they need to know that it isnt a path that can easily be reverted if you go down in. Thus it needs to be handled over the course of years because belive it or not children, teens and young adults are very susceptible to coercion. The path through transition cannot be forced upon that person by another. It has to be 100% their decision both mentally and truely what the person wants to do over a long period of time. Not because of what they think will help them in what would have been normaly a short to mid term solution.
