Is it normal that i sometimes play a random sound in my head?

As I said in the title, I sometimes 'play' a random sound in my head when falling asleep. Just now it was a note on a piano. Other times it might have been fabric tearing or something. Note that I cannot control this and that it is clearly inside of my head.

I actually get this but usually with people's voices. I'll never expect it either.
(No I'm not going mad, this only happens just before I go to sleep).

Happens with me too. Especially conversations I’ve heard during the day. Same peoples voices. Then I start to realize I’m imagining it and falling asleep then they go away

When falling asleep, your mind is still awake, but generally inactive. A bored brain with a lack of stimuli will often create stimuli. Other people commonly have overactive thoughts that they cannot control. Your brain seems to create sounds instead, which is unique as far as I can tell, but not necessarily abnormal.

    That's kind of cool, actually.
