I'm also fascinated with serial killers, though I get terrified when I read about them. The idea of actually killing someone holds literally zero interest for me [I get faint and sick when people are in pain, even though I'm significantly sociopathic, and I firmly believe that killing is wrong] but the idea of playing with a body after it's dead is exciting! Especially without all that gross formaldehyde they put in the corpses you dissect in biology. I'm planning on going into criminal forensics or mortuary science [or both!].
I think it's pretty normal to be fascinated by the idea of infamy. And especially for clever people, the idea of being infamous for what is essentially a puzzle with high stakes... Yeah. I don't think you're weird in the traditional meaning of the term.
As long as you don't actually go out and kill anyone . _.
