Is it normal that i smell everything new to me?

I smell EVERYTHING new to me. Like if i meet a new peraon i will smell them. Or if someone bought me new shoes i will smell them. Especially food and nature. I smell anything in contact with my noise. Dogs do this. Is it normal that i do it to? Is it a terrioty thing? wtf. Its not like i want to smell them. I just have to... Like the scent helps me remember or something. Sometimes i even taste it...
