I've done it ever since I can remember. Mostly, I take targeted showers and make sure any affected areas are clean using soap and water.
I don't know if it's normal, but I certainly feel that I'm the only one who does it and I also feel judged doing it this way.
I do it because:
It's actually faster than using toilet paper
Hygienic
I feel better for it.
I am a bit of a germaphobe, but not enough to avoid touching anything. I just prefer to be clean.
If I can't shower, or am in a public place and need to go number twos, I fill a cup or small container with warm water and soap and dip toilet paper into this before wiping. This is surprisingly effective at cleaning, though it does take longer than a targeted shower.
I don't believe there is anything wrong with wanting to be clean and hygienic, especially if you plan to be intimate with someone soon after.
Seems many like to revel in being grotty. It's a personal choice in the end.
Is it normal that I shower every time after I poop?
