Is it normal that i seem to obsess over everything matching?

My mindset changes a lot and I find something I like; like a colour, a piece of clothing, a sport or anything really.
Then I start to like things related to it. That's not, in my opinion, the bad thing.
The bad is that I'll notice that when I find a nice colour, which at one point was purple, it soon became my favourite (over my others which were grey, blue, black; of which each had their time at the top) and I started to like everything that had the slightest link to purple.
--Purple headphones I hates months back I now liked.
--As nerdy as it is, I started to like any poison pokemon, even though I didn't like next to any of them.
And it will escalate until I realise that it's really just blown out of proportion and then I dislike the colour again and slump in motivation. Similar things have happened with green, brown, blue, black, grey, orange etc etc, just not pink. Rinse and repeat, my days in a nutshell; honestly things like this could happen in a single day and most of the time do.
I feel it isn't normal and need to sort my head out.
I'm a very indecisive and worrisome person at times, and it's really annoying me.
What can I do to sort this stupid mild-OCD-like behavior out.
Thanks.

  • Yeah, this is called OCD. Nothing wrong with it.

  • I know nothing is perfect. Except pure H20 stored in an-- ramble ramble.
I feel there must be a deeper reason as to why people develop OCD; I doubt there is a gene for it, and I doubt you just wake up -BANG- OCD.
NormalIs4Loserz-- could you think of how you acquired your OCD trait?

  • I have major OCD. My doctor once told me, "Look around you. Nothing is perfect." It helped me for a bit then drove me nuts. I hope it helps you though! I can see how it may.

  • I thought so. I think there's something wrong with it, when it starts to annoy you. But thanks for your input.
