  • There are a few reasons for this.

If what you are seeing is random squiggles against a bright background it is called Blue-field-entoptic phenomena and can be seen by everyone in certain conditions.

If what you see looks like tv static and is most prominent in dim lighting then it is known as Visual Snow.
I have seen visual snow for 47 years now and I'm healthy as an ox.
Most people don't see visual snow and although the latest research has pinned it down to hyperactivity in the right lingual gyrus of the brain, it may very well be an awareness of the firing of the individual rods and cones I your own eyes. The only health risk is from stress of not having any answers and feeling like you are the only one to see this way.

Don't freak out when you google visual snow... there's a lot of panic from folks hoping to be 'cured' of their amplified awareness.

    • Thank you so much!! I've had this since I was a very small child and have seen doctors for years and no one has explained. Sometimes pictures form in the snow, moving pictures like a scene in a movie but sped up. Sometimes they r real places sometimes scenes that come true later in the day. It has bothered me and made me feel crazy all my life.
