Is it normal that i see nothing wrong with the name 'lucifer' ?

Seriously, I think Lucifer is a beautiful name, and I wouldn't think twice about naming my child that. It baffles me that some places ban you from calling your kid Lucifer just because religious people relate it to the devil. People have asked me before "would you call your child Adolf?" and then I call them out for comparing a genocidal historical figure to a character in a book.

I love the name. Anyone else?

Why not just call him Shit Head Jr?

I think it's a lovely name. Just because other people bring negative connotations to it is their problem.

yeah i think its a cool name but there are still a lot of delusional religious nuts out there who think the devil is real and might give your son a hard time..

It's Yahweh's name for his first best angel. Means bringer of light. After being cast out became satan, for the name is what you are, and to god at least according to the mythos- he was no longer that.

In Judaism, Lucifer is not necessarily Satan. Ha-Satan is a noun describing the adversary of god. Kind of like a lawyer. The roman catholic church used this name during the burning times to strike fear into the uneducated populace. They also used Lucifer for the same reason. Which is how he got his bad reputation.

Well you're going based on the description, so it may be cute but it may also be not cute. Keep this in mind!

Well, i actually think is a beautiful name. It means "morning star"
What is bad about it is its simbolism. It is no a character in a book, it symbolize all the evil and disgrace in mankind. Would to
you like your son to be associated with that?

Adolf is a real and incredibly evil person. Lucifer is a fictional character who stood up to a cruel, power-abusing God to give people on earth medicine and science. I would have no issue with a person named lucifer, but someone named Adolf probably had Nazi parents.

Well, to be honest, I think it's true that the devil/lucifer is quite misunderstood in today's society. I think that the universe is a duality, and in some ways, "lucifer", the devil or whatever you want to call him is necessary for the universe's existence.

However, don't name your child that. Seriously, I can't imagine what the life of someone would be who had to deal with having that name. So, given that, I can definitely see that it's not a name that one should be allowed to give to their child.

I don't see it as any worse than any other procedural tat on Amazon Prime. I'd call my child American Gods, even though he or she would be neither (at first).
