Is it normal that i see myself in the 3rd person all the time?

when i interact with other people, when i play sports, when i look back at memories, etc.. all the time.

Does anyone else do this. Do you guys remember things in the first person view or the third person view? Im starting to think Im doing something wrong.

Is It Normal?

  • That is the only way to see yourself because whenever you think about yourself it's a memory. Even if you're thinking about yourself right now it's a very very recent memory. Because of that the only way to think of yourself is in the 3rd person. The only time 1st person comes into play is literally your immediate experience. Beyond that the term 1st person is used to describe different perspectives in writing.

  • I used to be like this when I was younger. Whenever I thought about myself doing something I would think “she did this." I thought something was wrong with me, but I don't do it anymore. I just stopped after a while.

  • How can it be wrong? Unusual, perhaps, but not wrong - it's just the way your mind works. I do it myself from time to time, much more when I was younger. Is it really ALL the time with you, though? I doubt it - you'd have a hard time giving anything your full concentration if it was.

Try smoking some Salvia - who knows where you'll end up!

  • Yes, I think I do that too (if we're on the same line :P). It's like almost believing there is another 'you' living at a different time - the past and the future.

    It's very interesting!

      • Umm... it was a dream. I don't know what astral projection is but definetly not meaning out of body as in i had a part of a dream where i saw myself in third person for a couple seconds.

  • I don't think it's normal, but it sounds pretty cool!
