My mum's side of the family is from Germany and I go there once a year at least for a few weeks, I really like it there, that side of the family is really big, my mum has 7 other siblings :) Everyone is friendly (not just family) and it's just generally a nice place. I'm not great at the language but they really appreciate if you make an effort to try and say a few things in German. It's also really clean I find, not a lot of crappy looking buildings or litter :)
