I've had them and I can honestly say they were some of the most interesting experiences of my life. When people talk about them, we say it's like floating above yourself, looking down on yourself. Yet we all acknowledge that is a bad description because you can't actually see yourself, nor are you up in the air. You're just "outside" you, rather than "inside" you, looking out. It's more that you feel that way rather than experience being actually outside yourself.
My longest one was during an English class aged 15 (I was sleeping atrociously badly in response to exam stress; something like 15-30 minutes per night). The OoBE was accompanied with a complete feeling of weightlessness. For want of a better analogy, I was the ghost of myself, let free from my body. I wasn't scared; more curious, and also very serene and peaceful.
Yeah, I get that a lot but I was always completely conscious when I had OoBEs. It was part of my regular day. The feeling seems to slip away slowly as you fade back into your own body.
Is it normal that I really want to have an OBE?

When you awoke did you ever feel like you were falling abruptly?
