If they dont accept you then then shouldnt be in your life wait a few years you will accept your identify and be less ashamed. It's not my family that causing me problems, my mum is disappointed but at least she hasn't abandoned me. It's my bf's family who are giving him and me hell. I'm starting to regret making him come out to his family.
It's hard to forget about them, when he's so close to his family and he visit them regularly and used to invite them over a lot too.
